Romantic Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin Wedding at Turner Hall | Milwaukee Wedding Photographer
I’ve photographed weddings at beaches, in churches, hotels, courthouses, backyards, and barns, and there’s always something about heading into the big city that makes me giddy! Maybe it’s the fact that I grew up in the city and feel at home there or that cities are always buzzing with energy.
Some wedding photographers may not enjoy the whole city vibe because it means you have a lot more elements to deal with – such as bright orange cones or a sea of pedestrians – but I say bring it on, which is EXACTLY what we did for Morgan and Luke’s recent wedding, which we photographed smack dab in the middle of Milwaukee on July 17th!
Morgan and her bridesmaids got ready for the day at the lovely Hilton Garden Inn. The ceremony and reception both took place at the beautiful and historic Turner Hall which made for some really spectacular shots. This adorable couple met and fell in love in California, but decided to plan their wedding in Milwaukee where Morgan is originally from. Their wedding also just so happened to coincide with the Milwaukee Bucks championship run, so Milwaukee was hopping with crowds partying it up right next door at the Fiserv Forum. Their wedding party was poised for action the entire time, which made my life easy and the images fab, too.
We escaped away during cocktail hour to capture some intimate portraits of just the bride and groom at the Urban Ecology Center, where Morgan had fond memories of bike riding with her family in her youth. This made for the perfect juxtaposition between urban and nature vibes. I loved all of the details from this day, and I especially love this couple! Congrats, lovebirds!
